In leiu of a photo of myself (it’s true what they say about photographers not wanting to be in FRONT of cameras), here’s one of my second most defining thing; my car.
I’m Jacinta, I’m twenty three, from Perth WA, I’ve been taking photos (mainly of bands) for the past two or so years. During the week I work full time as a veterinary nurse at a clinic in the south-eastern suburbs, and on the weekends I take photos for Drum Media. Life is busy!
I’ve managed to pack a fair bit into my short time behind a lens. Highlights include contributing to a publication called reAKT! as a photographer and music journo, doing a TV interview to promote said mag (terrifying!), being shortlisted for a freelance job at Rolling Stone, seeing my work appear in Drum, Xpress, and The West, and getting to spend a couple of hours doing a promo shoot for one of my favourite bands, Gyroscope.
My kit is pretty streamlined, consisting of a Canon 5D, Canon 24-70 2.8L, Canon 70-200 2.8L & Canon 430EX Speedlite. I do have extra bits and pieces that I use as required, but those four pieces are the ones out with me every weekend. Transported in a stylish Crumpler bag, of course!
I don’t plan on making a career out of this, but I do plan on working hard to achieve the best results I possibly can. And making myself poor in the process.
